With the effect of globalization, international trade has developed like never had been in the history and importance of foreign trade in the economy and its share in employment also increased. The products produced within the borders of the country can be demanded by the consumers at any point in the world, and this possibility brings the establishment of connections between many sectors and operations, and the fierce competition alongside with it. The globalization of competition, standards, needed information and required connections also triggers the necessity of the human resources to be at a globally competitive level.
Our university is located in the town of Tarsus, where is in the middle of Adana and Mersin known as two important city of Turkey in terms of production, foreign trade and customs clearance, offers the opportunity to combine theory with practice as a result of its proximity to the port and close relationship with the foreign trade firms. Foreign Trade Department, which is part of the Vocational School of Tarsus University, carries out educational activities with its young and dynamic teaching staff, theory and practice-based courses, and elective courses for personal development. Theoretical courses in our department, which provides four semesters; practically supported with internship application and sector applications course. With this system, it is aimed that our students have experience in the leading businesses of the region and the industry and to guide them after graduation.
Graduated students of our department; it is possible to work in the import-export, logistics, transportation, customs services, production departments of the companies or establish your own company. In addition to that, it is possible to be employed by public institutions such as the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Our students who want to continue their education enter the DGS exam held by ÖSYM, Banking, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, Logistics, Capital Markets, Political Science and International Relations, International Relations, International Business and Trade, International It has the opportunity to switch to Trade and Logistics and many more undergraduate programs.
